The Senior Technologist positions are integral to the successful execution of scientific activities outlined in project Science Plans. With a focus on ensuring alignment with the organisation's R&D portfolio and broader business objectives, this role utilises technical expertise to support the development of technology and product platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and initiate studies in support of Product Launch Science Plans. This involves creating testing protocols, analysing product data, and communicating findings to stakeholders.
  2. Work closely with team members to execute elements of the Science Plans, with an emphasis on personal development and capability building.
  3. Understand project requirements and milestones to deliver activities within specified timelines and launch deadlines.
  4. Develop knowledge of New Category products and testing requirements to facilitate agile delivery of science activities and support Science Plan managers and Product Developers.
  5. Demonstrate versatility by contributing technical expertise across multiple Science Plan projects within the team/area.
  6. Promptly escalate any project delivery issues to Senior Scientists for resolution, ensuring risks and knowledge gaps are addressed effectively.
  7. Maintain confidentiality regarding all technology and compositions related to New Category products.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications Required:

  • Basic understanding of Product Science testing techniques (e.g., analytical) and experimental design to support product safety, compliance, claims, and regulatory assessments.
  • Familiarity with New Category Products composition, function, operating principles, and testing approaches.
  • Some experience in interpreting scientific data to inform agile product development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Degree-level qualification in a science discipline (e.g., chemistry, materials science, food chemistry, etc.).

Additional Information:

  • Initial contract duration: 6 months (with potential for extension based on project demands).
  • Work hours: 35+ per week (Monday to Friday, on-site).
  • Hourly pay rate: £21.89 (PAYE).
