Job Title: Audit Assistant

We are seeking an Audit Assistant to join our reputable firm, responsible for supporting our Audit/Accounts Managers in a range of essential duties. This role will be primarily based in our Eastleigh office, with occasional requirements to work from our Andover and Basingstoke locations, as well as at client premises.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of accounts using IRIS software within specified budgets, subject to review by managers.
  • Clearing reviews and finalising accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Limited Company Account disclosures.
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax computations, including capital allowances.
  • Conducting statutory work for clients and undertaking ad hoc tasks as necessary.
  • Assisting with general office administrative duties.
  • Participation in training courses as directed by managers.
  • Enrolling in day-release study towards a recognised accountancy qualification (AAT/ACCA/ACA) and maintaining records of work-based experience.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to adhere to budgets and promptly communicate any issues to managers.
  • Organised with exceptional timekeeping skills, maintaining detailed records of timekeeping.

Professional Attributes:

  • Experience in all aspects of accounts preparation.
  • Proficiency in computer packages for producing accounts.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly with spreadsheets, email, and Microsoft Products.

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in practices of similar size.
  • Familiarity with Xero, SAGE, and IRIS accountancy suite software.
  • Understanding of audit processes (desirable but not essential).

Other Requirements:

  • Regular travel to client's premises is expected for business purposes.
  • Ownership of, or access to, a car and a full UK driving licence is essential, or the ability to make suitable alternative arrangements.
