Company Overview: Working on behalf of a leading main contractor specialising in student accommodation, residential high-rise, retail, and commercial projects. With a strong presence in all major UK cities, company is well known for delivering high-quality construction services. Recently secured numerous recladding projects, enhancing the portfolio and expertise in this area.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work on 4-5 simultaneous projects, each ranging between £7-£25 million. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our projects, ensuring profitability and adherence to JCT Contracts and PCSAs (Pre-Construction Services Agreements).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting feasibility studies and cost estimates for projects.
  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Managing costs on a wide variety of new building projects and structures.
  • Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
  • Performing risk, value management, and cost control.
  • Advising on procurement strategy.
  • Allocating work to subcontractors.
  • Providing advice on contractual claims.
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
  • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is preferred.
  • Extensive experience with JCT Contracts.
  • Strong understanding of PCSAs.
  • Proven track record of managing projects within the £7-£25 million range.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide as required.
