Mechanical Draughts Person (Piping & Steelwork)

Our client, a leading mechanical engineering organization, is seeking a Mechanical Draughts Person (Piping & Steelwork) to join their team. This is a permanent position based in Southampton.
Main Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to produce piping isometrics and detailed steelwork drawings for the engineering/production department.
Key Attributes
- Proficient user of AutoCAD and drawing software
- Experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry
- Full UK driving licence
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out site surveys and produce survey reports
- Model and design piping systems and supports
- Produce piping isometrics and detailed steelwork drawings for fabrication
- Adhere to P&IDs when designing pipework drawings
- Draught and check detailed design drawings of piping systems and supports
- Prepare and check bill of materials
- Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects
- Provide support and input into the preparation of construction work packs
- Conversant with ASME & BS EN standards
- Knowledge of piping design and calculations is an asset
Codes & Standards
A sound understanding, working knowledge, and experience with industry codes and standards including Pressure vessel codes ASME VIII & PD5500, ASME U & R stamp, Pipe work codes ASME B31.3 / ASME B31.1, P.E.D requirements including CE and UKCA Marking, and Welding standards to ASME IX & BS 15614 is desired.

- Salary Range: £40,000.00 to £50,000.00
