Our client is at the forefront of this industry, providing innovative cable systems for power transmission on land and underwater.

As a Bid Manager, you will be a strategic partner for our clients, actively supporting the development and production of transmission grids. Your role will involve managing the entire tender process, from enquiry to tender submission and order capture. You will be the main point of contact for both internal and external communication regarding tenders, determining bid tactics and pricing offers.

In this challenging position, you will collate technical, operational, and commercial information to prepare comprehensive tender submissions. Your expertise in evaluating options and providing optimal project solutions will be crucial. You will also be responsible for engaging in post-tender discussions and contract negotiations with customers.

To excel in this role, you should ideally have a degree in a relevant discipline and a proven ability to develop and maintain effective customer relationships. A strong commercial acumen is essential, along with exceptional communication skills. The ability to thrive in a complex environment and manage a high-volume workload to meet deadlines is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complete tender process from enquiry to tender submission through to order capture
  • Act as the main point of contact for all internal and external communication regarding tenders
  • Determine bid tactics and pricing of offers
  • Collate technical, operational, and commercial information for tender submissions
  • Evaluate options to provide optimised project solutions
  • Undertake post-tender discussions and contract negotiation with customers
  • Track major projects in the UK marketplace, identifying new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships

Job Responsibilities:

  • Experience in managing the tender process and delivering successful bids
  • Degree in a relevant discipline is preferred
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective customer relationships

  • Ability to work in a complex environment and manage a busy workload to meet deadlines
