UK Managing Director - Sustainability Consulting

As the UK Manging Director you will be key to integrating MacAlister Elliott and Partners (MEP) / Peterson Projects & Solutions UK (PPS UK) operating within the Royal Peterson Control Union Group since its establishment in 1920. MEP joined the group in 2016, while Peterson Projects and Solutions UK joined the international network in 2023. The collaboration seamlessly integrates fisheries, aquaculture consultancy, and sustainability expertise. MEP's seasoned team provides extensive insights into marine ecosystems, economic impacts, aquaculture, and fisheries operations, serving clients globally and earning trust from esteemed organisations like the World Bank and the European Commission. Peterson Projects and Solutions UK specializes in guiding organisations towards sustainability goals, emphasizing social and environmental impact, sustainable finance, and sourcing across various industries. As a visionary leader, you will define business strategy, cultivate client relationships, and champion sustainability and environmental consulting services across all business areas.

Your dynamic role extends beyond commercial development and encompasses developing growth strategies for MEP/PPS UK, overseeing the delivery of client work to ensure quality and technical accuracy in collaboration with technical managers and consultants, and actively supporting business development through networking, event representation, and collaboration with other offices. In addition, you will navigate the financial, HR, and legal aspects of the business with the finance manager and support staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere within the UK team. Elevate your impact by representing the UK team at regional and group levels, ensuring strong relationships with other offices, leveraging central resources, and aligning with the broader group strategy.

You will bring effective communication skills in English, a client-focused approach and a proven track record in commercial business development within the UK and wider global market. Your leadership will encompass team leadership, negotiation proficiency, and a goal-oriented mindset.

It is expected that you will have a bachelors degree in sustainability, environmental engineering or a related field and a Masters degree or qualification in sustainability will be advantageous. and your prior working experience in environmental or sustainability fields, particularly in energy efficiency, renewable energy, circular economy, resilience, and social/community services will be highly valued. Additional experience in the food and agriculture sector is desirable.
