Machine Operative - Nights

Duration: Temporary - Permanent

Location: Huddersfield, HD9

Hours: Monday to Thursday 6PM-6AM or 7PM/7AM (Training on a Day Shift - Monday to Thursday 8am-6pm, Friday 8am - 5PM)

Salary: Starting £12p/h rising to £16.76p/h

We are recruiting for an experienced Machine Operative to join their team.

Duties:

  • Operating a wrapping machine following the correct operating procedures to achieve specified target output and product quality standards.
  • To work within and comply with the company Health and Safety policy, procedure, and risk assessments.
  • Follow the manufacturing instructions in accordance with the works orders to achieve the production plan and customer orders.
  • Ensure that raw material, bought in goods and manufactured products meet quality standards.
  • Inform the Operations Manager or relevant supervisor of machine or product problems or potential problems.
  • Manual handling
  • Accurate and timely completion of company paperwork
  • Maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Work as part of a team showing flexibility to assist in other duties and tasks as required.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and assist in smooth shift handovers.
  • Show flexibility in working hours, including overtime to meet business needs.
  • Any other duties as required commensurate with the role and level of responsibility of the post.

Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience operating industrial machinery, Wrapping/Weaving is advantageous.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety
  • FLT Counterbalance experience is advantageous.
  • Willingness to learn and take on board any training
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Great timekeeping
  • Ability to work well under own initiative.
  • Reliable
