Our client are a compassionate and dedicated children's home committed to providing a nurturing environment for children who are neuro diverse and or have been through trauma. Our focus is on fostering a sense of belonging, safety, and personal growth for every child under our care.
Our client are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the lives of the children residing in our home, providing them with the support and guidance they need to thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Establishing rapport and building positive relationships with the children in our care.
- Providing emotional support and encouragement to children facing various challenges.
- Assisting with daily activities, including meals, hygiene routines, and recreational activities.
- Implementing structured routines and activities to promote the social, emotional, and cognitive development of the children.
- Collaborating with other staff members and professionals to ensure the holistic well-being of each child.
- Maintaining accurate records of observations, incidents, and progress.
- Upholding the values and policies of the children's home at all times.
- Ensuring the safety and security of the children within the home environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children and/or young people, preferably in a residential care setting is desirable but not essential
- A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children from diverse backgrounds.
- A positive attitude and strength of character.
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- A flexible approach to work, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and training in child care practices.
